What does your Guidance Counsellor Help You With?
Help with Transitions (Gr. 6 to 7, Gr. 8 to 9, Gr. 12 to post-secondary/work)
Pathway Planning (Help with course selection, career research, identifying strengths and interests, etc.)
Individual Counselling (Help with personal, family or academic issues, etc.)


Other Services Provided:

Multicultural Liaison Officer (MLO): 
In partnership with Ottawa Community Immigrant Services Organization our MLO supports our newcomer families to Canada. This program addresses the settlement and integration needs of newcomers, immigrants, refugees and first generation Canadian students and their families to ensure a successful school experience for the students and that both students and parents are fully integrated into the community. 

OCSB Addictions Counsellor : To support students who have substance abuse and/or addiction issues or who have family members with these issues. 

OCSB Social Worker: 
To counsel students on a variety of issues including personal relationships, family concerns, mental health, etc. 

OCSB Mental Health Worker: To counsel students for short term mental health concerns and facilitating class and small group wellness and mental health sessions.


OCSB Psychologist: Supports students in a variety of ways including educational testing and personal counselling. 

Graduation Coach: 
Graduation Coaches support Black students in achieving their academic and personal goals. These coaches act as mentors, advisors, and advocates, working to foster a sense of belonging and address systemic barriers that may hinder student success.
