Reach Ahead Courses and Earning Extra Credits

Summer School
See your Guidance Counsellor to register.
​​OCSB Summer School Reach Ahead
- three week, full day courses (8:30-4:00 PM)
- online courses also available
- take an interesting elective or get ahead on a compulsory course
- student may only take one course

OCSB Credit Recovery Courses (Gr. 9 and 10 only)
Credit Recovery Achievement Centre is organized for students who have been unsuccessful in achieving the expectations of a course and have received a failing grade. Students must be recommended by the home school Credit Recovery Team to participate in this program. It is recommended that students have obtained a minimum standing of 30% in the original course to participate in the summer school credit recovery program.

SHSM Students - Summer School Co-op
In a Specialist High Skills Major but need more flexibility in your time-table? You can complete your Co-op requirement in Summer. See the information here:

Gr. 6, 7 and 8 Skills Builder
For students currently in grade 6, 7 or 8.  This program runs in July at several locations. Skills Builder is a literacy and numeracy support program for students who are presently achieving at level 2 or lower, and are at a risk. In this program, students receive encouragement, gain confidence and learn how to improve reading, writing, numeracy, study and organizational skills required for success.

Summer School with the OCDSB
Students may also take a summer school course with another school board.

International Languages Program

The OCSB offers many for credit language classes on weekends.
