The following are examples of some of the Community Awards available to our graduates:
GLOUCESTER LIONS CLUB Presented to a student who has demonstrated strong leadership within the school and/or community and has made a significant contribution of time and energy to one or more programs within the community. A bursary of $1000 to a student of St. Francis Xavier High School.
KIWANIS CLUB BURSARY Presented to a student who has made significant contributions to his/her community and also considers whether the student set goals and whether they were achieved, the student’s participation in school activities and programs, contributions that improve the morale of fellow students and friends, volunteer participation and leadership outside of school in the community or public service activities and whether the student exhibited high standards of excellence and integrity. A bursary of $2500 to a student of St. Francis Xavier High School.
UNITED SOCCER CLUB AWARD (OSU) Presented to a graduating student who is currently playing with Ottawa South United Soccer Club, is pursuing higher education at the college or university level and has demonstrated community involvement and active leadership within our school. A bursary of $500 to up to two students of St. Francis Xavier High School. JIM TUBMAN CHEVROLET LEADERSHIP AWARD Presented to a student who demonstrates excellent work ethic and study habits. This student is supportive to fellow students and is accessible to extend support in times of need. This student has contributed to school spirit. A bursary of $250 to a student of St. Francis Xavier High School.
SCIENCE LEADERSHIP AWARD DONATED BY DENTISTRY AT MANOTICK Presented to a student who achieves excellence, originality and integrity in science and supports these qualities in the work of others. A bursary of $500 to a student of St. Francis Xavier High School.
ROTARY CLUB OF OTTAWA SOUTH Presented to a highly qualified student who is seeking to pursue education in a university or a college. The student should reflect the Rotary Motto of “ Service Above Self” and be of high academic standard and be a positive/productive supporter of volunteerism in the school/community. A bursary of $500 to a student of St. Francis Xavier High School.
